Thank you for the editorial "Smoke and mirrors" [Opinion, Aug. 26]. As
a non-smoker who is disgusted by smoke, I find myself even more
disgusted by every "Department of Health Services" commercial I hear.
The state of California has developed a propaganda machine rivaling
that of Nazi Germany, where truth takes a back seat to political agendas.

It is time for all government agencies to be held to the same "truth
in advertising" criteria constraining private companies.
