Pubdate: Sat, 04 Oct 1997 Source: Skagit Valley Herald (WA) Author: James Burke Once again an opponent of I-685 has given us many facts without a reference to where they came from. It is a shame to see a supposedly educated person such as Dr. Baize (Letters, Sept. 30) fail to fully explain his point. Please, Dr. Baize, show me where I can research the information you gave to verify your facts. You failed to mention all the addictive drugs already being used by your fellow health care providers. Do you wish to take these tools away also? More people die from aspirin use each year than have ever died from marijuana use. I think everyone should read President Nixon's report on marijuana done in 1972, which advocated the decriminalization of marijuana and its removal from Schedule 1 status. As with any issue, the public should be fully informed, and this can be done by visiting your local library. The facts speak for themselves. James Burke Olympia, WA
