Hewitt FLORIDA ELECTION RESULTS DISHEARTENING Votes have been counted and the elections are over, thereby finally ending the incessant political ads, the lies, disinformation and hyperbole. Gov. Rick Scott can remove his Navy insignia baseball cap and Charlie Crist can stop meeting people on their front porch. Floridians have successfully reinstated a fraudulent thief in office and sent the party-switching candidate back to his family. Some choice we had. Attorney General Pam Bondi can continue to protect the children, while espousing the right to bear arms, and the "monsters" are headed to prison cells, where they belong. As for George Sheldon, Bondi's opponent, his political campaign ads were nonexistent, so once again, whoever spends the most money wins. Unfortunately, the medical marijuana amendment failed to achieve the 60 percent majority required for approval, depriving many sorely in need of its potential benefits. A 58 percent majority is insufficient to pass, yet a man can be elected to a four-year term with a 49 percent majority vote. Thankfully, Brevard County residents saw the need for the half-cent sales tax increase. I am proud of my fellow Brevard residents for this achievement. Sad to say, I don't know where this beautiful state is headed. Gregory W. Hewitt Melbourne - --- MAP posted-by: Matt
