MISSING WOMEN MATTER OF SOCIOLOGY

Well, once again Stephen Harper has shown another way to measure his
lack of judgment and another opportunity to make Canada, thus
Canadians, look foolish in the eyes of the world.

In this case it is a lack of understanding of language. While the
whole country is saying there should be an inquiry into the deaths
and disappearance of many aboriginal women, Stephen Harper says it is
a matter of crime, not sociology.

Although some of us have our thinking coloured by other languages, it
should be clear that this is an issue of sociology. Because crime is,
itself, a reflection of the sociology of a country.

The famous war on drugs driven by the U. S. for decades started
because of the desire of Mr. Dupont to sell his new miracle fabric,
nylon. And lucky for him that Mr. Hearst, the newspaper mogul, had
interests in timber.

Both of them wanted to get rid of hemp, which was the established
garment fabric, now decades later making a comeback. The use of
marijuana, a plant related to hemp, was demonized for business profit
for those two "gentlemen." Cannabis became illegal, by a stroke of
the pen. Use of it became a crime. Did the Christian bible not say
something about the "love of money" and the path to evil?

Decades of mindless "war" in North America should prove the biblical
adage. And yes, the attitudes ( the sociology) of us white guys is a
big issue, which certainly cries out for some kind of inquiry, and
then, big action.
