Soderstrom Referenced: http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v14/n087/a02.html Page: 15 GUN REGULATIONS While I am in favor of as many new regulations as possible to restrict who can own guns and where they can bring them, the proposal to restrict the rights of medical marijuana users from owning firearms makes no sense, as the Tribune's Eric Zorn states in his Jan. 24 column. It only muddies the waters and gives the gun lobby more ammunition (no pun intended) to whine that it is being persecuted. There must be laws that deny the right to carry a gun while marijuana is in a person's system, similar to the laws that restrict driving based on blood alcohol level.
