The authorities know women on the street do as they're told or suffer a severe beating or worse. Sullivan became mixed up in drugs for whatever reason. But once dragged into that horrible lifestyle, she become some guy's pawn, a way to make money and nothing more. Does anyone really think she had any control over that house once one of the many gangs in the Lower Mainland found out about it? Even if a home sale was enforced, she could have used the money for proper treatment to allow her to get her life back on track. Those involved in this seizure should hang their heads in shame. It's bad enough we can't protect these women on the street. Now we use the legal system to complete the feeling they must have of total worthlessness. But she is just a dope fiend, so no one cares. Pick her bones clean and chuck her on the trash heap, there is money to be made. Jack Goode, Penticton - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
