Re: The Tories on pot: Cheech and Chong were never this silly, by Neil Boyd, Aug. 10 There are common-sense alternatives to Canada's marijuana "problem" and the Conservatives' Bill C-15 is not one of them. I propose that all Canadians be given the right to grow eight marijuana plants at home. They could enjoy the harvest themselves, give it to family and friends, or contribute it to worthy causes like the Compassion Club . If enough citizens grew eight plants, the market price of marijuana would be driven down. This would eliminate large-scale operations and their huge untaxed profits.
