Bruce LET US MAKE THE CHOICE Regarding "Reefer Madness? Study links pot use with psychosis risk," let's imagine for a moment that the July 27 article has some truth. I will ignore the fact that the researchers "couldn't prove that marijuana use itself increased the risk of psychosis." I'll try not to think that "20 percent of young adults have admitted to using marijuana." That statement confuses me anyway. I would expect an overabundance of psychosis if one out of five of our youth is using pot, along with all of the pot smokers throughout history. Instead, I'll focus on the fact that "the overall risk remains very low." So now we know. Shouldn't we be allowed to make our own choice to use? We make our own choices about tobacco use, eating fast food, alcohol use, driving a vehicle, using prescribed narcotics, owning guns, etc. All of these could have a negative effect. Thanks for informing us of the "facts." Now legalize marijuana and allow us to make our choice. Pamela B. Bruce Redding - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
