White Bookmark: http://www.mapinc.org/find?115 (Cannabis - California) VOTERS IN NINE STATES HAVE SAID ENOUGH IS ENOUGH That some Americans despise democracy is always disturbing. The letter writer from Lucerne who doesn't like the Compassionate Use Act Proposition 215 apparently prefers a system where expensive, inhumane and irrational prosecution and punishment are used instead of a more sensible approach. Voters in nine states have said enough is enough let the medicinal use of an ancient herb supersede the barbaric and stupid system that has failed because marijuana is not a dangerous, hallucinatory narcotic but a useful medicine for adults. Perhaps he could cast his critical eye on his community's methamphetamine problems or all those people getting high on martinis. As for federal law superseding California law, perhaps he'd be happier in Arizona or elsewhere where auto emissions are dirtier, it's OK to smoke cigarettes in restaurants, nobody recycles and raw sewage is dumped into rivers.
