Author: Matt Vaughn Referenced: http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v05/n1982/a01.html?397 ENFORCING MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW Re "DEA's pot raid draws protests," Dec. 15: The article failed to mention that the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to reject enforcement of Proposition 215 and to sue the state in federal court over said enforcement. El Dorado County officials have expressed a similar view. The irony in El Dorado County is that when the feds say "spotted owl" or "Indian casino" or "asbestos" the El Dorado County "hillbillies" get riled up and march to protest the unreasonable, overreaching federal authorities. Nearly two-thirds of Californians voted for Proposition 215. The rest work for the government in some capacity and are trying not to lose their slice of jurisdictional pie and promote this continued, egregious abuse of process. - - Matt Vaughn, Placerville President, Medical Marijuana Caregivers Assn. of El Dorado County - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
