CANNABIS NOT A GATEWAY DRUG

I JUST wanted to say that I am in full agreement with Alun Buffry's letter
on Wednesday concerning cannabis as a so called gateway drug. You might
just as well call tobacco or beer a gateway drug. Cannabis needs to be
separated from hard drugs and needs to be made available from sources where
hard drugs are not also available. Only then will the true situation be
realised and hard drug use reduced.

I am reminded of the sort of problems I used to do at school in maths; If
all rolls Royces are cars does it follow that all cars are Rolls
Royce's? No! and it's a fact that all people who smoke cannabis do not
go on to take heroin!
