Labbe's April 20 column about police profiling showed a complete lack of respect for all people, especially blacks. The underlying message was that it is OK to continue racial profiling because blacks are deserving of scrutiny and harassment. This column was racist and unkind. You've heard of the phrase "back-handed compliment"? Well, this column was back-handed racism. In Canada, we also have some racist pigs in uniform. I'm sure that every country has. But the difference between our country and yours is that we have a sense of fair play: Our newspapers don't harass minorities, and our people continually try to build bridges with marginalized communities. We don't prey on them, as this column did. Aaron Lagadyn Ladysmith, British Columbia Canada - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Stevens
