Headline by newshawk. POT PARTY THRIVING Re: "Marijuana party in B.C. on pre-election high". March 24. I would like to set the record straight about the B.C. Marijuana party. As the founder of the Bloc Pot, that was started in 1997, I must inform you that we ran 24 candidates in the Nov.30,1998 provincial elections. The effort inspired us to launch the Canadian Marijuana Party in 2000, and I am pleased to see the idea has caught on in B.C. in 2001. Ontario, Nova Scotia and Alberta are now showing interest and we expect this will become the new standard in marijuana activism. Marc-Boris St. Maurice Montreal, Que. - --- MAP posted-by: GD
