Sutliff PEOPLE CAN CHOOSE WHAT TO INGEST Dear Editor: I'm in agreement with Alan Randell of Victoria, Canada, who wrote that what one ingests is his or her own business not the government's. However, his letter doesn't answer the question posed. Meth is toxic to some people but not to most. That statement can be said about almost anything ingestible. Those who can't control their use will be harmed, even killed by whichever substance is their choice. It's not the drug, it's the user. I'm speaking as one who has lost a child to drug abuse. Only by helping substance abusers will the harm done by drugs be lessened and the crisis passed. Prohibition and Zero Tolerance will never work. Gerald M.
