The U.S. District Court in San Francisco has issued a permanent injunction forbidding the government from punishing physicians for recommending marijuana for medicine. Here in California, over 1,000 physicians have recommended marijuana since our medical marijuana law, Proposition 215, was passed. Not one has been harassed by the federal government. Nevada's doctors would be wise to follow their example and not deprive their patients of access to this uniquely valuable treatment for cancer chemotherapy, AIDS, chronic pain and other intractable complaints. DALE GIERINGER San Francisco Editor's note: The writer is coordinator of California NORML (National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws). The group was a co-sponsor of Proposition 215. - --- MAP posted-by: manny lovitto
