To the Editor of The Washington Post:
Re: "SUCCESSES IN THE WAR ON DRUGS" (11-6-12).
For more than forty years we have been having successes in the war on
drugs. The net results are that illegal drugs are just as available
today as they were forty years ago. Every jail and prison in the U. S.
has illegal drugs inside them. If we cannot keep illegal drugs out of
our jails and prisons, how are we supposed to be able to keep them out
of our country with thousands of miles of coastline and international
borders?

**There is no financial incentive for a police agency to solve a murder
or rape, however, there is a major incentive to confiscate drug money.
