To the Editor of The North Kitsap Herald:

Re: "I-502 CREATES NEW SET OF ISSUES" (10-26-12).

If you want as many children as possible to use marijuana, keep it a
criminalized substance. Marijuana use has increased one thousand fold since
it was criminalized via the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937. Testifying
before the U. S. Congress in 1937, the Commissioner of Narcotics Harry
Anslinger, testified that the United States had a total of 100,000
marijuana users.

Now the government says that more then 100 million Americans have used
marijuana. People, especially children, want what they are told they
cannot have. The lure of the forbidden fruit is very
powerful--especially for children.

In the Netherlands marijuana has been quasi legal for several decades
yet the Dutch use marijuana at less then half the rate Americans do.
Why? The lack of the lure of the forbidden fruit.

To the Editor of The Ledger-enquirer:

Re: "WITH GREATER POTENCY, MARIJUANA USE RISES AMONG TEENS" (10-27-12).

Before marijuana was criminalized via the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 the
vast majority of teenagers had no idea what marijuana was. Now every
teen knows what marijuana is and about half of all high school students
will use it before they graduate.

If you want as many children as possible to use marijuana, keep it a
criminalized substance. Marijuana use has increased one thousand fold since

From: Kirk Muse <>

To the Editor of The Oklahoman:

I'm writing about: "Oklahoma City traffic stop results in discovery of
nearly 500 pounds of marijuana" (11-5-12).

I'm sure that many marijuana growers, sellers and traffickers are
thankful to the Central Oklahoma Interdiction team for this latest
marijuana bust and others like it.

Without operations like this, marijuana would be worth what other
easy-to-grow weeds are worth -- very little. Thanks to the Drug
Enforcement Administration and other so-called "drug warriors," the
easy-to-grow weed is worth almost as much as pure gold -- and completely
tax-free.

All the marijuana traffickers arrested will soon be replaced. They
always are.
