I am not aware that Harry Anslinger provided any reason for removing
cannabis from the pharmacopeia in 1942. As far as my limited
knowledge goes, Anslinger simply removed marijuana because he had the
power to do so. If he offered an excuse, I'd like to know what it was.

There was some serious concern over the sanctity of "white men's shadows" if I understand correctly.

sorry about the non-sequitur; the unattributed response was to this screed:

DH,

There has been a new response posted to the following discussion on
Change.org:
*Are We Moving Toward Marijuana Decriminalization?*

- ----------------------------------------------
We are also trying to get medicinal marijuana on the Florida ballot for
2010. If any FloridaChange.org members wish to join the cause, the
organization is People United for Medical Marijuana - Florida and their site
is *http://www.pufmm.org/* <http://www.pufmm.org/>. Please be sure to sign
up if you are a registered Florida voter. We need all the help that we
can get due to our demographics. Sincerely, Kevin Silvey
