According to the PDFA web page they no longer accept support from liquor
companies (but they used to in a big way) they do currently take money from
Pharmaceutical companies because they are 'focused on illicit drugs.' In
other words they used to be hypocrites but now they are hypocrites.

A good method to get a DARE discussion going in your communities would be to
take some of the DARE articles located in the MAP archive and send to your
local PTA (parent/teacher association) for discussions at future meetings.
Getting these school groups to join us would be a large boost. If some of
the studies done showing increased drug use among DARE graduates are true
and we document these to said groups we should be able to pick up some NEW
recruits. These MAP articles on the DARE situation should also go to your
local school committee for discussion or even Town Meetings/ local
Selectman. Any local authorities involved with the children in your town.
Be prepared for a backlash from your police, though. One time I had a
protest going with sign at the Boston Marathon starting line and the next
day the police brought out the DARE Van and placed it right at the spot
where I was standing. I'm glad that's all they did but they could be more
virulent depending on your area.

Good idea Kim. If there seems to be an interest we will create a topical
shortcut that jumps directly to all DARE articles. Probably at
http://www.mapinc.org/dare.htm

The general plan is to stay on JJ. She has not backed off and I say we do
another round of letters to her sponsors.
